Spring brings wildlife

The annual bird migrations make Shetland a Mecca for birders from all over the world. The location of Havra makes it ideal for birding as the surrounding moorland and sparse shrubbery making birding a real pleasure with great results. Nearby Sumburgh Head with its massive seabird colonies is a must for any visit. The cliffs around Havra even host their own puffins and other seabirds in smaller numbers.

Culturally, one of the biggest events of the year takes place in late spring. The Shetland Folk Festival brings musicians from all over the world for the event.

And as the daylight increases after the equinox the stunning landscape of Shetland starts to come alive with weather often being surprisingly pleasant at this time of year.
